The Tide Rolls In. The Tide Rolls Out. So Do We.
The tide rolls in.
The tide rolls out.
Twice a day.
Like clockwork. You can literally set your watch to it.
We don’t question it.
We don’t make it a problem.
We don’t panic when the water pulls back and say,
“Something’s wrong… this shouldn’t be happening.”
We trust it.
But in our own lives?
When things feel “in,” we’re good—confident, clear.
When things feel “out,” we tighten. Overthink. Try to fix. Try to control.
We treat the natural rhythm of life like it’s a mistake.
It’s not.
And this doesn’t mean you ignore what isn’t working in your life…
or that you don’t want more.
Of course you do.
But there’s a difference between moving toward change from clarity…..and reacting from fear when things feel off.
Just like the tide, your life moves in cycles—expansion, contraction, clarity, uncertainty.
The problem isn’t the movement.
The problem is we don’t know how to stand still in the middle of it.
So we react.
We rush.
We try to force the tide back in.
But you can’t rush the tide.
You can only meet it.
There’s a place in you that isn’t shaken by what’s coming or going. A place that doesn’t rise and fall with every wave.
That’s your home.
And yes—you’ll leave it sometimes.
We all do.
That’s part of being human.
But your heart knows the way back.
It always has.
The work isn’t to control the tide.
The work is to remember where you stand.
Some days you’re cutting peppers in a sub shop.
Some days you’re standing in front of a room of 400 people.
Both are real. Both matter.
The tide rolls in. The tide rolls out.
The work is the same.
