At The Fork in The Road(Even The Small Ones)

A fork in the road doesn’t only show up in the big moments of life.
It’s there in the everyday ones too.

Should I say this? Go there? Take the risk… or play it safe?

When we reach a crossroads, the mind does what it knows how to do.

It looks for safety. It wants certainty. It wants reassurance that things will turn out okay.

There’s nothing wrong with that.
It’s part of being human.

But the mind also believes it can control the outcome—that if it thinks long enough, plans carefully enough, it can avoid regret.

There’s another voice though.
It’s quieter. Less persuasive.
It doesn’t offer guarantees.

What it offers instead is a subtle knowing.

Not this will work out perfectly.
More like this feels true.

We want certainty, but there’s never been a way to guarantee the outcome.

So you pause.
You let the mind do what it does.
And then you pause again.

And from that place, you choose.

Not because you’re sure.
But because something in you is ready to move—and willing to trust the step.
